As per the sources, 100 years old historical Hindu temple has been given back to the Hindu community today in Zhob. It was abandoned by Hindu community as most of the Hindus shifted to India when subcontinent was partitioned back in 1947. The locals said, it has been more than thirty years that a primary school was set up in this Hindu temple.
The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awamy Party’s secretary Zhob, Qayyum Mandokhail told, “our leadership has always supported minorities and we appreciate this step of local administration”. The Mandir has given back to Hindu community but now it should be protected as well, he added.
Prominent religious scholar Allah Dad Kakar was the chief guest of the ceremony. Another religious scholar named Molvi Majeed who was there in ceremony told, “Islam gives the message of peace and brotherhood and we religious parties appreciate this measure of local administration as the right has given back to the minority”.
Deputy Commissioner Zhob posted on twitter, “all religious and political parties supported this step of the government and bestowed due determination to help regional non-Muslims in all regard”.
Worship place of Sikh community (Gurdwara) should be provided to the community as well, Mandokhail demanded.
The local Hindu community has shown their joy as finally they got their historical temple.
Deputy Commissioner Zhob Taha Saleem told that school is being shifted to Tehsil office.
